Tom’s last 25 years have been spent working in and around the Washington Beltway. He has worked for a few different integrators ranging from large, like L3 Communications, to smaller and medium-sized organizations. During these years he focused on Business Development, Program and Project Management, Joint Venture management, Chief Operations Officer for one of the firms where he spent 10+ years, as well as direct sales, proposal and capture management. Tom has also been very active with TQM practices in the 90’s and ISO 9001 requirements in the past 15-years including his time with GARDANT.
Tom began his Information Technology career at NASA, at Langley Air Force Base, in 1969. He spent 30 years with Control Data Corporation in positions ranging from a technical support engineer to manufacturing engineer, which resulted in him traveling to all parts of the world when new systems were shipped to new clients, and to Canada as general manager after a divestiture from CDC. His travels also took him to multiple and extended projects in Switzerland, to Sweden, and shorter projects in Ghana and Mozambique.
Tom has two years of undergraduate studies at Georgia State University in Atlanta and augmented his studies by attending the Bell Atlantic sponsored Executive Leadership program at the Wharton School in the late 90s. With DC as his home base, Tom enjoyed 8 years on the Board of Directors of the Greater Washington Area Chapter of the American Red Cross and is very active with the Knights of Columbus. He and his wife Anne enjoy their travels, their three children, four grandchildren and their time at the beach.
